Route & Destination FAQs
What is the difference between Halong Bay, Lan Ha Bay, and Bai Tu Long Bay?
Halong Bay: The central UNESCO core zone famous for world-renowned grand caverns (Sung Sot Cave, Thien Cung Cave) and panoramic vistas from Ti Top Island. Vibrant and majestic.
Lan Ha Bay: Situated south of Halong around Cat Ba Island. Known for crystal emerald waters, secluded white sand beaches (Ba Trai Dao), Dark & Bright Cave, and a more peaceful, boutique atmosphere.
Bai Tu Long Bay: Located northeast of Halong. Wild, pristine, and virtually untouched by major commercial traffic, ideal for off-the-beaten-path expeditions.
Should I book a 2-Day-1-Night (2D1N) or 3-Day-2-Night (3D2N) cruise?
A 2D1N cruise (approx. 24 hours from midday to midday) provides an excellent overview of the bay, cave visits, kayaking, sunset party, and squid fishing. A 3D2N cruise is highly recommended if you want to venture deep into remote lagoons, cycle through the ancient jungle village of Viet Hai, and relax without rushing.
When is the best time of year to visit Halong Bay?
Spring (March to May) & Autumn (September to November): The best seasons with pleasant temperatures (22°C–28°C), clear skies, and calm waters.
Summer (June to August): Warm and sunny, perfect for swimming and water activities (occasional brief afternoon showers).
Winter (December to February): Cooler and misty, lending a mystical, poetic ambiance to the limestone karst formations.
Onboard Experience & Amenities FAQs
Does cruising in Halong Bay cause seasickness?
Halong Bay and Lan Ha Bay are surrounded by over 2,000 limestone islands that act as massive natural breakwaters. The water is as tranquil and smooth as an inland lake. Severe waves are virtually non-existent during normal weather, making seasickness extremely rare.
What amenities are included in luxury 5-star cabins?
Modern 5-star & 6-star cruise cabins feature private sea-view balconies, en-suite marble bathrooms with Jacuzzis or bathtubs, floor-to-ceiling panoramic glass windows, centralized air conditioning, smart TVs, safety boxes, bathrobes, and mini-bars.
Can the cruise accommodate special diets (Vegetarian, Vegan, Halal, Gluten-Free)?
Yes! All our cruise partners readily prepare customized meals for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, child-friendly, and Halal-friendly dietary requirements. Please let us know your preferences when booking so the executive chef can prepare ahead.
Is Wi-Fi and mobile internet available on the bay?
Most luxury vessels provide complimentary Wi-Fi in public lounges and cabins. Vietnam 4G mobile signal (Viettel, Vinaphone) is generally strong throughout the main sailing routes, though it may temporarily dip when cruising behind massive karst islands.
