No smoking: To ensure fire safety and wooden interior structure, smoking is completely prohibited inside the cabin. Guests can smoke in designated outdoor areas (Sundeck).
Protecting heritage: Littering into the Bay is strictly prohibited. The cruise ship encourages guests to limit bringing single-use plastic items.
6. Refund/Cancellation Policy due to weather
In case the Bay Management Board stops granting departure permits due to bad weather (storm, tornado…):
The ship will support changing the departure date or refunding fees according to Athena Group’s regulations depending on the time of notice of sea ban.

In fact, steel-hulled ships like Athena Luxury have much higher compactness and stability than traditional wooden ships. Halong Bay is inherently airtight, the water surface is quite calm, combined with a solid steel structure to help minimize vibrations. If you are an extremely sensitive guest, I recommend taking a light dose of anti-sickness medicine 30 minutes before boarding the train for the most complete fun.
The electrical system on board is 220V. Sockets in Suite rooms are usually multi-purpose (suitable for round or flat 2-prong plugs popular in Vietnam). If you use devices from the UK or US (3 square pins), bringing a small adapter will help you feel more secure when charging your laptop or camera.
You can absolutely bring your favorite bottle of wine to celebrate the special occasion. However, the cruise ship will apply beverage service charges (corkage fee) equivalent to service charge, cups and ice. You can refer to this fee at the bar or leave a message in advance so the staff can prepare an ice bucket for you.
Yes, Athena Luxury is a very "family friendly" cruise ship. We have high chairs available in the restaurant and can help arrange baby cots in the room (subject to availability). Because the number of cribs is limited, remember to make a note when booking so we can reserve this "golden" spot for your baby.
At Halong International Guest Cruise Port, Athena Group has a separate, luxurious and air-conditioned waiting area. You can leave your luggage at the port reception desk, walk around the Sun World area or sit and relax with a cool drink at the waiting house while waiting for the crew to complete preparations to welcome guests.
The "Dress code" is not required to be too strict, but because the dark restaurant space is very luxurious with yellow lights and music, I suggest you choose Smart Casual (polite, elegant) clothing. A light dress or shirt will help you have sparkling "check-in" photos that are more harmonious with the party atmosphere.
The cruise ship is always equipped with a First-aid kit and the ship management team are all trained in basic rescue skills. In case of emergency requiring intensive medical intervention, the ship will use a speedboat (Tender) to take guests to the international hospital on the mainland as quickly as possible (only takes about 15-20 minutes of travel).
