In recent years, the trend of resort tourism in the Northern heritage region has witnessed a strong transformation, where Lan Ha Bay has emerged as a proud “hidden gem”. No longer satisfied with pure accommodation models, high-class tourists are now looking for experiential spaces, where the tranquility of nature blends with the depth of culture. Amid that flow, “floating hotels” are not just means of transportation, but have become mobile art spaces, telling the story of a golden Indochina era in the heart of world wonders.
Continuing the journey of creating luxury standards, February 2025 marked the appearance of Indochine Grand – the newest “muse” and also the most sophisticated symbol in Indochina Sails’ fleet. Born from the desire to redefine luxury, Indochine Grand does not choose a giant scale to create an impression, but chooses to touch emotions with absolute sophistication and privacy. The ship is like a giant sculpture gliding across the turquoise water, carrying the mission of connecting art-loving souls with the wild beauty of the bay.
Positioned as a Boutique Art Cruise line, Indochine Grand is not just a regular 5-star resort cruise, but a place to preserve and honor the “heritage soul”. Every design detail, from unique lacquer paintings to handcrafted natural wood furniture, exudes the breath of classic French architecture intertwined with traditional Vietnamese aesthetics. This is a destination for sophisticated passengers – those who are not only looking for a trip, but also looking for a perfect intersection between art, history and a classy lifestyle.
To fully understand the position of Indochine Grand, we need to look back at the powerful “ecosystem” of Indochina Sails – the unit that laid the first bricks for the overnight cruise industry in Vietnam. This is not just a simple travel brand, but a fleet united by the philosophy of heritage preservation and premium shipbuilding techniques, creating a standard of self-contained resorts in the heart of wonders.
The journey of this fleet began in 1993 with wooden shipsIndochina Sailspioneer, which has become a symbol of nostalgia and romance on Ha Long Bay for three decades. Following that success is the steel-cased “big brother”.Indochine Cruiseat Lan Ha Bay, owns 43 cabins with enchanting ancient French architectural space. In particular, it cannot be ignoredIndochine Premium– a true “super yacht” in Ha Long Bay with a double Sundeck space of up to 1,450 metersalong with top-notch amenities, demonstrating the brand’s constant innovation.
Regardless of the difference in scale or route, all members of the Indochina Sails family share the same classy “gene code” with the highest commitment to maritime safety. The entire fleet, notably Indochine Grand, is constructed with strict SB steel standards at Shipyard 189 under the Ministry of National Defense – the most prestigious unit in the shipbuilding industry in Vietnam. This solid military technical foundation not only ensures the yacht operates smoothly and stably in all stormy conditions, but also turns the ship into a solid “fortress”, bringing peace of mind and absolutely peaceful sleep to tourists in the middle of the ocean.
Indochine Grand’s design philosophy does not stop at just an accommodation space, but is positioned as a “Boutique Sanctuary” – an art cathedral in the heart of the ocean. Inspired by the delicate beauty and grace of Vietnamese women, the ship is a perfect symphony between the elegance of French Colonial architecture and the soul of traditional heritage. The interior space is meticulously controlled to create a nostalgic yet contemporary atmosphere, where every small corner tells a story about the culture and history of Indochina.
What makes Indochine Grand’s unique value is its absolute commitment to materials. Unlike cruise ships that use industrial materials, the Grand’s entire interior is finished from 100% high-quality natural wood, bringing warmth and the typical scent of wood. The cruise is truly a mobile exhibition hall with hundreds of unique lacquer and oil paintings handcrafted by famous artisans. The combination of tropical Tiffany lamps, lacquered ceilings, and indigenous materials such as silk, ceramic, and rattan transforms each living space into a profound aesthetic experience, honoring Vietnam’s exquisite handicrafts.
Technically, Indochine Grand possesses impressive parameters, affirming its position as a new generation superyacht. With a length of 68 meters and a width of 13 meters, the ship has a deep draft of 2.6 meters, ensuring stable and smooth operation in both Ha Long and Lan Ha Bay areas. The ship’s structure includes 4 decks scientifically distributed to optimize functionality and visibility. The total usable area is more than 3,000m^2, but instead of taking advantage of it to increase the number of rooms, the investor has devoted most of the space to common utility areas and landscaping, creating a rare feeling of openness.
The scale of Indochine Grand is strictly limited to 32 luxury cabins, serving a maximum of 64 passengers. Keeping the number of guests low relative to the ship’s size is a deliberate strategy to ensure absolute privacy and personalized service. With a high staff ratio, each customer request is met almost immediately.
The room system on Indochine Grand is not simply a place to stay, but is a private artistic space, where the line between modern amenities and heritage beauty is blurred. One feature that sets the ship’s class apart is its commitment to open space: 100% of room categories have separate balconies, allowing guests to enjoy the fresh sea breeze and capture the majestic scenery of Lan Ha Bay right in their resting space.
Dubbed the “diamond” in the heart of the ocean, the President Suite is the most luxurious room on the ship with an impressive area of up to 58m². Located in a prime location on the 2nd floor, the room possesses a 360-degree panoramic view of the bay, providing an unparalleled spacious space. The typical artistic highlight of this room class is the classic dragon-foot bathtub placed in the middle of the sophisticated bathroom space, where guests can absolutely relax in a setting imbued with regal and Indochinese nobility.
For travelers looking for the perfect balance between spaciousness and a sense of intimacy, Executive Suite rooms with an area of 40m² and Suites of 36m² provide an in-depth vacation experience. The entire interior of the room is made from high-quality rosewood, which not only creates luxurious and durable beauty but also emits a gentle natural fragrance, bringing deep and relaxing sleep. With an open balcony and smart layout, this is the ideal place for visitors to relax on the sofa, read a good book and watch the majestic limestone islands pass by the window.
Occupying the largest number in the fleet but still retaining the sophistication in design, the Junior Suite room class with an area of 28m² is the perfect choice for couples. Each room is a miniature work of art, where handcrafted decorative details are arranged in harmony with modern amenities. Even at an area of 28m², Junior Suite still feels extremely airy thanks to the large glass door system leading to a private balcony, helping the room always be filled with natural light and the breath of the sea.
The utility ecosystem on Indochine Grand not only serves the need for simple relaxation but is also designed to elevate the trip into a true art exhibition, where each service space has its own philosophy that harmoniously connects heritage values and modern luxury standards. The most prominent is Tonkin restaurant located on the 2nd floor with an area of 180m^2, a perfect crystallization of French – Indochina architectural style under a sophisticated lacquered ceiling and shimmering light from a tropical Tiffany lighting system. Here, the Fine-dining experience becomes an art performance with menus ranging from fresh seafood lunch buffets to premium dinner set menus designed specifically by artisan chefs, along with a 30-seat VIP dining room.m^2 Always ready for private and formal parties.
Continuing the life on the ship is the Cochinchine Lounge located on the 3rd floor with a space of 200 metersm^2, which is considered the heart that connects all experiences in a nostalgic colonial space. With precious wooden furniture and large glass windows that open up panoramic views of the hazy beauty of Lan Ha Bay, the Lounge is an ideal meeting place for visitors to immerse themselves in relaxing Jazz music, sipping classic cocktails or premium wines from a selected list. This space is not only a place to relax but also a luxurious focal point, where visitors can enjoy the tranquility of the sea in the utmost comfort.
Another groundbreaking highlight of Indochine Grand’s architecture is the symphony of sky and sea expressed through the double Sundeck system with a total area of nearly 750 square meters.m^2. Among them, Sky Deck on the rooftop with an area of 450 mm^2 providing an absolutely open space to catch the sunrise or watch the brilliant sunset, while also integrating an exciting mini Golf practice field right in the middle of the ocean. Right below on the 3rd floor is the Infinity Deck, nearly 300 meters widem^2, home to an infinity Jacuzzi swimming pool with warm water and unlimited views of the bay, creating a classy relaxation space that helps visitors touch the purity of nature.
To close the energy recovery journey, the Wellness service on board is built according to high-end spa standards with intensive treatments to help restore body – mind – mind after a long day of exploration. Guests can choose a 30-minute foot, neck, and shoulder massage to instantly relieve stress, or experience a 45 to 60-minute full-body massage with professional massage techniques combined with natural essential oils. The entire spa space is designed to be quiet, have a gentle scent and ensure absolute privacy, helping each passenger find the perfect calm and re-energize during their heritage vacation.
Indochine Grand’s itinerary is delicately designed to take visitors away from the hustle and bustle of the city and return to the pristine tranquility of the heritage bay through two flexible time options: 2 days 1 night or 3 days 2 nights. Each cruise is a series of inspirational encounters, connecting people with nature and local culture in the deepest way.
One of the most impressive stops is the Bright and Dark Cave (Bat Cave) area of the protected area of Cat Ba National Park. Instead of bustling engine sounds, visitors will sit on rustic bamboo boats steered by local people, gently weaving through cleft caves to enter a jade green water valley, surrounded by towering limestone cliffs and a space of pure quiet.
With longer journeys, the trip will take visitors deep into Cat Ba island to touch the simple rhythm of life at Viet Hai Ancient Village. The experience of cycling through lush forest roads or leisurely riding an electric vehicle through romantic valleys will bring a feeling of freedom. Immediately after that, the journey continued to Trung Trang Cave – a natural masterpiece located in the heart of the National Park with a system of diverse stalactites, demonstrating the millions of years of tectonic history of the bay area.
Not only offshore destinations, a stay on Indochine Grand is also an exciting cultural journey with typical experiential activities. Guests can start the day with a relaxing Tai Chi exercise on the sundeck in the clear sunrise, participate in a cooking class to discover the secret of the art of presenting Vietnamese cuisine, or try their luck with exciting night squid fishing activities under the enthusiastic guidance of the crew when night falls in the vast ocean.
After all, a perfect trip is when peace of mind is given top priority and the soul is nourished by human values. At Indochine Grand, blending with the durable steel frame is a consistent Indochina aesthetic, where every small detail is cared for to honor traditional art and connect generations of Indochina Sails yachts. More than technology or art, yachts also represent the spirit of responsible tourism (ESG). by investing in an advanced wastewater treatment system with Japanese technology and thoroughly ‘say no to single-use plastic’ to protect the marine ecosystem. When choosing Indochine Grand, you not only enjoy a luxurious vacation but also together preserve the pristine beauty of Lan Ha Bay, continuing the story of preserving heritage for the future.”

The cruise ship is equipped with free Wi-Fi in public areas and rooms. This is a great opportunity to take a break from the screen and enjoy nature.
Have. This is a huge plus point of Indochine Grand compared to other small ships. A modern elevator system connecting floors helps elderly guests, guests with difficulty walking or guests with disabilities to move to the Sundeck or restaurant easily and safely.
Indochine Grand places great emphasis on personal experience. If you notify in advance (at least 24-48 hours), the staff will help decorate the swan bed, prepare a cake or organize a small celebration at the restaurant. Some services may be free or chargeable depending on your specific needs.
On the train, you do not need to use cash for each service. All costs incurred will be recorded in the room number (Room account). You will pay the total bill at the reception on the morning of the last day in cash (VND/USD) or credit cards (Visa/Mastercard).

The use of flycams on Lan Ha and Halong bays is strictly controlled by the bay management board and military agencies. You need a license issued by a competent authority. Without a license, use may result in equipment confiscation or administrative fines. Please contact cruise management before takeoff.
Indochine Grand operates like a true 5-star hotel. The ship has a large capacity generator system that operates 24/7 to ensure air conditioning and electrical equipment are always ready.
