Overview

Established in 2007, Bhaya Cruises is not simply a cruise line but also a pioneer in redefining the concept of resort on Ha Long Bay. However, the milestone that truly created a unique difference was the strategic shift to the Bhaya Legend product line in 2009. This was the moment the brand decided to move away from the mass tourist transportation model to move towards a new luxury standard, where each journey is not just a simple trip but a heritage story written specifically for each guest. The highlight that makes Bhaya Legend’s reputation lies in the Private Charter model – renting an entire separate ship. While the Vietnamese yacht market at that time was still quite unfamiliar with the concept of “floating villas”, Bhaya Legend established its position as a pioneering entity focusing entirely on deep personalization. Here, privacy is not just a service feature but the soul of the brand; From the travel route weaving into remote bays to the rhythm of activities on board, everything is fine-tuned to bring an absolutely quiet space, completely separate from the noise of crowded tourist groups. The core value of Bhaya Legend is the artistic intersection between traditional identity and modern management thinking. Each ship in the Legend fleet is an architectural work simulating the shape of a classic sailing ship from the Nguyen Dynasty, exquisitely carved with precious woods imbued with an oriental breath. However, hidden behind that historical appearance is a strict international hotel service standard and operating system. This combination not only helps preserve the beauty of Vietnamese maritime culture but also fully meets the expectations of comfort and luxury of the global elite.

Bhaya Legend’s sustainable success is inseparable from the strategic management structure and support platform from parent group HG Holdings – an entity with extensive experience in the field of international travel and destination management in Southeast Asia. This system is operated under the direction of experienced administrators, typically businessman Ngo Minh Duc, the founder with the vision of bringing Vietnamese tourism to the world, and Mr. Tran Thanh Nam, Chairman of the Board of Members of Bhaya Cruise Company Limited. The close connection between the core leadership team and the HG ecosystem has created a centralized management structure, helping the brand maintain a consistent direction and spirit of pure Vietnamese hospitality throughout nearly two decades. Besides, Bhaya Legend possesses an outstanding competitive advantage thanks to its vertically integrated business model in the HG Holdings ecosystem. Instead of operating alone, this brand is supported by an extensive international destination management and marketing network (through brands such as Asia DMC or Sens Asia). This resonance creates a steady stream of high-end visitors from high-end source markets such as the United States, Australia and Europe. Thanks to good control of both guest sources and accommodation infrastructure, the group is able to standardize services according to strict international standards, while flexibly adjusting itineraries to bring the most deeply personalized experiences to visitors.

The Bhaya Legend fleet currently has a scale of 6 exquisitely crafted ships, which have just undergone a comprehensive restoration in December 2022. This upgrade not only ensures the inherent classic aesthetics but also significantly increases comfort and safety according to the latest maritime standards. Likened to “mobile villas” in the heart of wonders, each Legend ship is a completely isolated resort space, allowing visitors to control their own time and rhythm of the journey without having to share space with anyone else. The diversity in cabin configuration is a big plus point that helps Bhaya Legend fully meet all sizes of groups from small to medium. With Bhaya Legend 1 cabin, this is the perfect choice for couples looking for a romantic space with absolute privacy for 2 adults and 1 child under the care of a team of 6 staff. Meanwhile, 2 and 3 cabin ships are ideal options for large families or groups of close friends who want to enjoy bonding moments. In particular, Bhaya Legend 5 cabins is the largest entity in the fleet, capable of accommodating groups of 10 adults with a crew of up to 10 people. This ship is equipped with a powerful Yanmar 105 CV engine, ensuring smooth and stable operation even on long voyages to explore remote bays such as Bai Tu Long or Lan Ha.

Bhaya Legend’s interior design philosophy is loyal to the traditional luxury style, using precious wood as the main material to create a cozy, classic but no less formal feeling. Each cabin is a true “Legend Suite” with large floor-to-ceiling glass windows opening onto a private balcony overlooking the bay, helping guests fully enjoy the natural space even while resting. Besides aesthetic beauty, safety is strictly enforced according to strict international standards. All ships are equipped with automatic fire alarm systems, safes in each room, escape hammers and full life jackets, bringing absolute peace of mind to tourists during their vacation at sea. The soul of the resort model on Bhaya Legend is the Private Butler service – who acts as a bridge between tourists and natural wonders. Not simply a servant, each butler is a psychological and cultural expert, accompanying throughout the journey to understand and satisfy even the smallest preferences. From arranging a sunset afternoon tea at the desired location to adjusting the kayaking schedule according to the guest’s health, the butler ensures that every moment you spend on board is a uniquely “tailored” experience, bringing a warm and familiar feeling like being in your own home.

The culinary philosophy at Bhaya Legend is elevated to the “Cruise-à-la-carte” concept, where the menu is no longer a set of fixed options but a creative space dedicated to each individual’s taste. The menu system is extremely diverse, from exquisite standard dishes to well-designed specialized diets such as No-meat menu, No-seafood menu, Vegetarian menu and Wellness menu. Guests can start the day with an A’la carte breakfast served in bed or on the sundeck, with local specialties such as Ha Long squid rolls served with white sticky rice or traditional chicken pho, all prepared from the freshest ingredients of the day.The highlight of the culinary experience is the romantic candlelight dinner parties at unique locations. Instead of the usual restaurant space, Bhaya Legend offers the opportunity to enjoy a duo of hot beef tenderloin and grilled tiger prawns in the heart of a magical shimmering cave or on a pristine beach, where there is only the sound of waves and the silence of nature. These parties are not only a journey of flavors with East-West fusion dishes combined but also a sublimation of emotions, turning anniversaries or honeymoons into unforgettable memories.

To complete the series of re-energizing experiences, the Wellness & Spa service on board is positioned as a “Healing Oasis” in the heart of heritage. Bhaya Legend offers intensive treatment packages, designed to relieve stress and provide comprehensive health care right at sea. Typically, the “Resurrection” package combines 60 minutes of full body care with special foot reflexology therapy, helping to restore strong vitality. For couples or those who have just returned from a walking journey to explore the islands, “The Walkers” package for two people will be a great choice to soothe the feet and relax the mind in a space fragrant with natural herbs. The combination of the sound of crashing waves and the skilled massage techniques of experts will help visitors find the absolute balance between Body – Mind – Mind.

Bhaya Legend’s journey is not limited by normal routes but opens up a borderless cruise, fully connecting three heritage regions: Ha Long Bay, Lan Ha Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay. With the ability to operate flexibly, the fleet allows visitors to admire the magical transformation of the natural landscape, from the majestic, bustling limestone islands of the heritage core to the quiet, pristine beaches in the north of Bai Tu Long Bay or the lush green beauty of Lan Ha waters. This diversity of routes ensures that each trip is a true exploration, helping visitors reach the most pristine corners of the Gulf of Tonkin. For tourists with short time, the 2 Days 1 Night itinerary is a subtle way to explore the mysterious Me Cung cave or Trinh Nu cave with smooth white sand beaches – where Legend often anchors in separate areas to avoid the noise of mass ships. However, the true unique value of the brand lies in its In-depth Discovery journeys lasting from 3 to 7 days. Thanks to the low-draft technical characteristics of traditional wooden ships, Bhaya Legend can freely enter “off” areas that giant steel-hulled ships cannot access. It could be the isolated Ba Ham Lake with three water tunnels through the mountain, the peaceful Vung Vieng fishing village where the fishermen’s life is preserved, or the pristine beaches in the Coc Cheo area, where visitors can monopolize an entire area of green space. Every day at sea with Bhaya Legend is a series of unique activities designed to help visitors reconnect with themselves and nature. The morning usually starts at 6:15 with Tai Chi exercise in the gentle sunrise on the sundeck, helping to awaken the senses and balance the mind in a quiet space. When the sun rises, kayaking sessions at still water pools are an opportunity for you to freely explore small caves and touch the emerald green water. When night falls, after a luxurious dinner, visitors can join the crew in an exciting night squid fishing activity, where stories about the sea from local people will enrich your cultural experience throughout the heritage journey.

To fully understand the unique position of the Legend line, it is necessary to place this brand in relation to its “brothers” belonging to Bhaya Group’s diverse ecosystem. The clear differentiation between product lines not only helps the group dominate all upper-class customer segments but also creates a perfect network of complementary services, meeting every nuance of the needs of international tourists coming to Vietnam. In the group’s strategic map, The Au Co Luxury Cruise is positioned as the proud big brother with a solid steel structure and the most luxurious scale. This is the only cruise line in Ha Long that makes a specialized 3-day, 2-night cruise across all three bays (Ha Long, Lan Ha, Bai Tu Long). With a scale of 32 cabins, The Au Co Focus on cultural experiences and endurance activities such as trekking in national forests or cycling in Viet Hai village. This is the top choice for travelers who love stability, large common living space and modern amenities such as outdoor Jacuzzi.

On the contrary, if customers are looking for a cozy space with a “boutique” quality and community connection, Bhaya Classic   is the perfect solution. The Classic line with a scale of 15 to 20 cabins vividly recreates the style of traditional wooden ships, where visitors can easily interact and share their passion for discovery with new companions. Meanwhile, the Classic Premium variant with only 3 to 7 cabins offers greater privacy while still maintaining flexible costs, creating a sophisticated choice between large ships and the all-inclusive Legend line.

Entering the 2025-2026 period, this ecosystem continues to welcome a promising “member”: Bhaya Soul – Wellness cruise line  launched in July 2025. With 20 luxurious rooms, Bhaya Soul not only a means of transportation but also an “oasis of mindfulness” at sea. The philosophy of this line focuses entirely on healing and slow travel, where visitors are pampered with intensive spa treatments, macrobiotic menus and heritage art activities such as silk painting or sound therapy amidst the vast space of the bay.

Not only stopping on the water, the group’s vision is also completed by a piece of land called Namia River Retreat in Hoi An. This is a 100% villa resort with private pool located peacefully on the Thu Bon river, a member of the “Considerate Collection” of Small Luxury Hotels of the World. The connection between heritage cruises in the North and quiet wellness spaces in the Central region has created a closed “heritage loop”. This combination affirms the group’s position in building a sustainable resort ecosystem, where cultural identity and human mental health are always placed at the center.

At Bhaya Legend, sustainability is not just a marketing slogan but a core guiding principle in the DNA of the business. With the green campaign “Say no to single-use plastic”, the fleet has made a revolution in operating procedures by completely replacing plastic bottles with reusable glass bottles. A modern pure water filtration system is equipped on-site, allowing visitors to easily refill water into personal bottles at automatic filtration stations throughout the journey. These efforts not only help reduce thousands of tons of plastic waste each year but also educate conservation awareness, keeping the emerald green color of the heritage bay always pristine and intact.

The corporation’s social responsibility is also realized through projects that conserve wildlife and support humane local livelihoods. Bhaya Legend is proud to be a strategic partner in the Cat Ba Langur conservation project – one of the world’s rarest primate species that is at risk of extinction. In addition, the “Bhaya Community Farm” project in Viet Hai village has created a sustainable circular economy model: the group supports local farmers with clean farming techniques to provide organic food for the fleet, thereby creating jobs and stable income for the indigenous community. This is how the brand helps travelers connect more deeply with social values and cultural heritage on every trip.

Those persistent and substantive commitments have helped Bhaya Legend receive the trust and love of the international tourism community, as evidenced by the prestigious TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice 2024 award. This honor not only affirms excellent service quality but is also an affirmation of its position as a responsible travel agency, always striving to balance between luxury resort experiences and nature conservation. For the Bhaya team, each award received is a great motivation to continue the journey of preserving and promoting the most precious values of Ha Long Bay for future generations.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I get seasick on Bhaya Legend's small ships?

Ha Long Bay and Bai Tu Long have dense limestone terrain, acting as natural windbreaks, making the water surface very calm, almost like a giant lake. Therefore, seasickness rarely occurs. However, if you are an extremely sensitive person, we always have anti-sickness medicine available at the reception and our staff will assist you in choosing the most stable seating position on the train.

Is there Wi-Fi on board? Can I work remotely?

We are equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi, but please note that when the train moves into heritage core areas or dense limestone mountains such as Cong Do, the signal may be locally interrupted. This is a common geographical feature of the bay area. If you have an important meeting, please notify the ship manager in advance to get advice on the best time frame and signal area.

Can I bring personal alcoholic beverages on board?

You are welcome to bring your favorite wines. However, the cruise ship will apply a certain corkage fee to cover the preparation of glasses, ice, and table service. We encourage you to try cocktails made with local ingredients at the sundeck bar for a more complete experience.

Are children safe in a room with a private balcony?

The safety of visitors, especially children, is a top priority. All balconies in Premium Balcony room categories are designed with high standard and sturdy railings. However, for hyperactive children, we recommend that parents always supervise children when on the balcony or on the sundeck. We also have children's life jackets available for all water activities.

If the weather is bad and the trip is canceled, what is the support policy?

Flight cancellations due to weather are often based on the decision of the Bay Management Board to ensure absolute safety. In this case, Bhaya Legend will assist you in changing the departure date or refunding costs according to regulations depending on the time of cancellation notice (when the customer has not yet boarded the ship, is having a meal at the port, or has completed part of the journey).

Does the cruise ship support decorations for special occasions such as wedding anniversaries or birthdays?

This is the strength of the Legend private cruise line. We are excited to surprise your loved ones, from preparing cakes and fresh flowers to arranging a romantic candlelit dinner on the sundeck. Please share your ideas with us at least 3 days before departure so that everything can be perfectly prepared.
