Ha Long International Cruise Port, affectionately known by local chauffeurs as Sun Port, is Vietnam’s premier specialized international cruise terminal capable of accommodating both domestic and international travelers. Ground was broken on the port in November 2017, and construction was completed in late 2018 by Sun Group. It was envisioned through the “magical hands” of Bill Bensley—ranked among the world’s top 5 architects. Following over a year of meticulous construction, the port was inaugurated on December 30, 2018, in the presence of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and various ministry leaders. On December 31, 2018, the port proudly welcomed its first international luxury liners, the Celebrity Millennium and World Dream—two of the most prestigious cruise vessels in the world.
