Introduction to Ao Tien Van Don Harbor
The luxury Ao Tien Harbor is situated in Ha Long Commune, Van Don District, and was developed by Mai Quyen Tourism Co., Ltd. The project commenced in April 2022 and officially opened on January 3, 2023, with a total investment exceeding 610 billion VND across a 30-hectare site. Ao Tien Harbor is designated as a Grade I inland waterway port, specializing in tourist transport services from Van Don to islands and scenic attractions across Bai Tu Long Bay and Ha Long Bay.
The harbor is designed with five piers capable of accommodating cruise vessels with up to 300 seats. The basin area can simultaneously anchor 150 tourist vessels. The passenger terminal is designed to handle a capacity of 2,600 passengers per hour and integrates various functional zones, including passenger reception, ticketing, and service support. Alongside the required infrastructure, the harbor features landscaped areas, waiting lounges, inter-agency workspaces, and ancillary service facilities. According to the Bai Tu Long National Park Management Board, numerous enterprises have already registered to operate passenger transport services at the harbor, utilizing modern vessels to ferry travelers to the island communes of Van Don district and Co To. Current vessel operators benefit from various fee exemptions, as follows:
- Free docking for transport and residential vessels for one year for residents of the five island communes in Van Don district and Co To.
- Free mooring and docking for the first month of operation at the harbor, followed by a 50% discount for the subsequent two months.
- Standard port fees were scheduled to take effect in June 2023.

Ao Tien High-Class Seaport announces adjustments to passenger terminal fees, effective May 17, 2023
🔥🔥According to official information from the Ao Tien High-Class Seaport, in alignment with the cruise operators currently stationed at the port, the terminal will adjust its passenger port fees effective from May 17, 2023, as follows:
- Children aged 0–2 and seniors over 80 years old: Free of charge.
- Children aged 3–5 and seniors aged 70–80 years old: 15,000 VND per ticket.
- Adults aged 6–69 years old: 30,000 VND per ticket.
🔔Important note for passengers: To qualify for preferential rates or exemptions, please ensure you carry the following supporting documents:
- Children: Birth certificate, health insurance card (a photo on your mobile phone is accepted), or information via the VNEID application.
- Seniors: Citizen Identification Card (CCCD) or information via the VNEID application.
