Often described as a miniature Dalat, Phuong Hoang Peak boasts picturesque natural landscapes, rolling grassy hills, and expansive open spaces. The area enjoys a mild climate year-round, with average temperatures hovering between 18°C and 22°C. How to reach Phuong Hoang Peak
From the center of Uong Bi city, travel through the Bac Son ward towards the deep forest route. The terrain is somewhat rugged but manageable for most vehicles, including cars. The route is clearly marked with signage, though visitors should note there are two paths to the summit. The left path is a newly opened road that is longer and more difficult to navigate, while the right path is easier and shorter; however, since it passes through a residential area, a toll of 10,000 VND per passage is required. Upon reaching the foot of the hill, parking is available with fees varying by vehicle:
- Motorbike parking fee: 20,000 VND
- Car parking fee: 50,000 VND

From the parking area to the summit, there is a single trail approximately 3km long. Given the complex nature of the path, it is not recommended to drive a car or walk to the top. Instead, we suggest hiring a motorcycle taxi (xe om) for safety and to conserve your energy; the fee for this leg is 80,000 VND. Once you reach the summit, there is an entrance fee of 10,000 VND per person.
The best time to visit Phuong Hoang Peak
According to seasoned travelers, the ideal time to visit is during spring or autumn, when you can witness both the “burnt grass” and “green grass” seasons. The “burnt grass” phenomenon occurs when the intense sun dries the mountain grass, creating brilliant, shimmering hues that look almost like fireworks. The “green grass” season follows as the hills recover, turning into vast, cool, vibrant meadows. This provides perfect opportunities for breathtaking photography.
