1. Viet Hai Fishing Village

Nestled deep within the verdant core of Cat Ba National Park on Cat Ba Island, Cat Hai district, Hai Phong, Viet Hai is an enchanting and secluded fishing village. Spanning a modest area of approximately 141 hectares and home to just around 70 households, this ancient village boasts a heritage stretching back over a century. According to local lore, generations ago, fishermen navigating Lan Ha Bay sought refuge from a fierce storm in this sheltered cove, where they serendipitously discovered a pure freshwater spring and chose to settle permanently. Framed by majestic limestone karsts, pristine ocean waters, dense jungle, and a rich ecosystem, Viet Hai offers visitors an unforgettable communion with nature and authentic rural life. Guests can reach this picturesque village via two distinct routes: a scenic coastal boat journey or an adventurous motorbike ride through the jungle canopy.

2. Monkey Island

Originally named Cat Dua Island (Pineapple Island), Monkey Island is a premier destination situated approximately 1.5 kilometers south of Cat Ba town. Despite its compact size of roughly 0.2 square kilometers, the island boasts breathtaking scenery and unique wildlife.

As part of the Cat Ba National Park archipelago, Monkey Island has welcomed travelers for over two decades. Its defining charm is a resident troop of approximately 20 playful golden macaques. Friendly and mischievous, these monkeys frequently venture down to the shoreline to interact with visitors and accept treats such as fresh fruit and sweets—hence the endearing moniker, Monkey Island.

Monkey Island features two gorgeous beaches: Cat Dua 1 and Cat Dua 2. Cat Dua 1, located on the eastern shore, stretches over 200 meters with powdery white sand and translucent azure waters. Cat Dua 2, situated on the southeast coast, extends over 100 meters, secluded behind a tiger-shaped rocky promontory and graced by a lush garden teeming with vibrant foliage and singing birds.
