3. Bai Chay Beach

Bai Chay Beach

Spanning 4km, Bai Chay Beach stretches like a silk ribbon from the Vinpearl terminal junction to the Bai Chay Lighthouse — one of the most popular emerging check-in spots in Ha Long. The beach is divided into four sections: beaches 1, 2, 3, and 4.

  • Beach 1 is near the lighthouse, Beach 2 is in the center of the tourist area, Beach 3 is next to the Sun Carnival plaza, and Beach 4 is near Vinpearl. Only beaches 1 and 2 are officially recognized as public beaches, complete with cleaning crews, debris-filtering nets, and rinsing facilities. Beach 3 remains unfinished, and Beach 4 is an unofficial, informal beach.
  • Beach 2 is the largest and most beautiful, featuring fully equipped amenities and fine white sand imported from Quan Lan Island.
  • Beach 3 lacks rinsing services, lifeguards, and public restrooms. The sand here is golden and shell-ridden, making it uncomfortable for walking, and the water becomes turbid quickly when many people are swimming.

4. Marina Ha Long Beach

Marina Beach

Marina Bay Beach is a compelling tourist destination in Ha Long City, featuring vast grounds, fine white sands, lush greenery, a coastal plaza, and iconic polygonal rinsing structures. Inaugurated in the summer of 2020, it has since attracted numerous travelers seeking relaxation.

Marina Bay Beach is a feat of modern engineering and architecture, designed by a renowned Spanish architect. To create this man-made beach, a once desolate area of the sea was reclaimed, and sand was transported from Ninh Thuan province to level the terrain. The process took seven years of intensive effort. The result is a stunning beach with fine white sand, manicured greenery, scenic walkways, clear waters, and gentle waves.

5. La Luna Coffee

Located on the Monaco Ha Long hill (Bai Chay ward), La Luna Coffee offers an open design that harmonizes with nature, making it an ideal destination for those who appreciate lush, green spaces and beautiful views. The property spans nearly one hectare and includes various features such as wooden bridges, cottages, and floral gardens, offering diverse perspectives of the city, the sea, and the pine hills.

  • Opening Hours: 08:00 – 17:00

The Dolphin Palace is a prominent cultural and exhibition center located on Tran Quoc Nghien Road—Ha Long’s most beautiful coastal route. The structure is shaped like a dolphin leaping from the sea, encased in sleek, black glass. Designed by Salvador Perez Arroyo and Co-workers, the project was completed with a total investment of 1 trillion VND.

The Dolphin Palace draws many visitors due to its unique architecture and the numerous cultural and commercial events held there. From the palace, you can enjoy stunning views of Ha Long Bay, a Natural Wonder of the World. The space both inside and outside the facility is exceptionally vast and comfortable.

9. Poem Mountain (Nui Bai Tho)

Poem Mountain is a one-of-a-kind limestone mountain in Ha Long, standing over 100m tall between the sea and the city. The mountain offers dual perspectives: one side faces the bustling urban streets, while the other overlooks the turquoise sea and limestone islands. Historically, this mountain served as a strategic lookout point for the Northeast frontier. It was once known as “Doi Den” (Lamp-lighting Mountain) or “Truyen Dang” (Signal Mountain), as guards would light fires or lanterns to guide ships or signal the royal capital.

In 1468, King Le Thanh Tong toured the An Bang sea and stopped beneath the mountain. Enchanted by the beauty, he inscribed a poem into the southern cliff, praising the landscape and peace of the nation. The poem contains the line: “The mountains and rivers of the Southern Heaven have lasted for thousands of years/ Now is the time to prioritize culture over martial arts.” Later, many poets left their own works on the mountain, leading to it being renamed “De Tho” (Poetry Inscription) or “Bai Tho” (Poem Mountain). Twelve ancient poems have been identified on the mountain, with the most recent discovery occurring in 2021. You can view a record of King Le Thanh Tong’s poem at the Bai Tho temple at the foot of the mountain.

Additionally, the mountain is home to the Quang Ninh Post and Telecommunications Center, and at its base lie Long Tien Pagoda and the Tran Quoc Nghien Temple (dedicated to the son of Tran Hung Dao, the defender of the Northeast border). These four landmarks form the Poem Mountain Historical and Scenic Complex, recognized as a National Historical Site in 1992. Traveling along the coastal road surrounding the mountain offers some of the most spectacular views of Ha Long.
