Pac Sui Waterfall

An Introduction to Pac Sui Waterfall

Pac Sui Waterfall is a unique and breathtaking cascade situated in Tien Yen District, in the mountainous northeast region of Quang Ninh. The waterfall is formed by Que Stream, which originates from the southern slopes of Ngau Vo Len mountain—the peak of Trau Dam (at an altitude of nearly 700m). The waterfall spans several kilometers, resembling the flowing hair of a maiden as it descends through 16 rhythmic tiers. Each level offers a distinct beauty, adorned with fascinating rock formations weathered by moss over time, creating a scene that is both majestically wild and enchantingly ethereal. Additionally, every two to three levels, one can find a small, crystal-clear pool, shallow enough to reveal the stones beneath the surface.

What makes Pac Sui truly special is that each successive tier appears even more beautiful than the last, with every level possessing its own unique character. Some tiers feature steep, vertical drops where the water crashes down in a roaring, white mist, while others flow gently with the soft, murmuring sounds of a natural symphony. Some cascades pour down like a fairy’s silken hair, others are draped in hanging tree roots, and some are adorned with vibrant, colorful wild orchids. The local people named it “Pac Sui,” which means “white water,” as the water flows from the heights, casting a white foam across the forest like silk threads dancing in the wind.

Pac Sui Waterfall is currently classified as a provincial-level scenic site, providing local authorities with significant advantages to proactively attract investment for tourism development. While initial investment capital remains modest, basic infrastructure and essential services are already in place. Consequently, more visitors are discovering and exploring Pac Sui, creating a vital source of income for the local community.

How to Get to Pac Sui Waterfall

Tien Yen District has invested over 10 billion VND into upgrading the infrastructure for this tourism area, including a spacious concrete parking lot, an access road for vehicles leading to the base of the waterfall, two stone-paved walking trails, three bridges crossing the stream, and faux-wood staircases. These improvements have significantly enhanced the experience for travelers visiting Pac Sui.

As a result, visiting Pac Sui no longer requires a challenging trek through the forest as it once did. You can simply drive directly to the base of the waterfall, a journey of approximately 30 minutes from National Highway 18A. The access road connecting the highway to the falls has been fully upgraded and paved with concrete, ensuring a comfortable and convenient journey. You will easily find a spacious and secure parking area nearby.
